Deputy Ambassador

Mark Glauser

Mark Glauser was appointed Deputy Head of Mission to the Embassy of Canada to the United States of America in August 2025.

He began his public service career at External Affairs and International Trade Canada in 1993. Subsequently, Mr. Glauser represented Canada abroad at the Canadian Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland from 1996 to 1999, as Counsellor at the Canadian Embassy to Jordan from 2002-2005, as Counsellor at the Canadian Embassy to the United States of America from 2005 to 2010, and as High Commissioner of Canada to Australia from 2019-2024.

In Ottawa he has held a number of senior positions including, Executive Director of the Threat Assessment and Intelligence Services Division from 2010 to 2015, Director of Operations at the Privy Council Office from 2015 to 2016, Director General of the Middle East and Maghreb Bureau from 2016 to 2017, Director General of the Middle East Bureau from 2017 to 2019, and Director General of the Peace and Security Programs Bureau from 2024 to 2025.

Mr. Glauser holds a BA (Honours – History and Political Science) from the University of Saskatchewan and an MA (Political Science) from Dalhousie University.
