I was recruited by Disney back in 1996 to help build a theme park, Disney's California Adventure. My focus is on the IT side, particularly ticketing, security, facilities and medical management. Great fun and adventure, and also has led to work at the Parks in Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Love being based in LA; started a family with my wife, Shawn, whom I stole from Sport Canada, and we now have two growing boys who hail from Newport Beach (both are duelies). She is into Community Liaison/Publishing now.
I was invited onto the NHL crew at the Honda Center for the Ducks. 47 games per season, and a Stanley Cup under our belts; who would have ever thought......
Still Canadian, eh!

Started out as a Newf, then a few youthful years in NS. After grad school at Dalhousie, lived in several Cdn cities (Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary) before moving to New York in '86. Met my lovely wife there (she's from Ohio but could easily pass for a Canuck). We moved to Los Angeles in '93 and have maintained a decent base tan level ever since. Currently work at an Australian investment bank, Macquarie, real estate investments. We get back to Canada a couple of times a year.

It was very exciting to come across this website, though I'm not finding groups in my rural area of Upstate New York and hope this will help.
I moved here in Fall of 2000 after marrying an American citizen. My employment is with my husband's business running a machine shop business, I'm Production Manager.
All of my family is still in Ontario and I miss them even though I get up to visit regularly.
It would be fantastic to connect with other Canadians in my area.
Sincerely, Susan

I moved in Louisiana in 1991 to teach French to cajuns in public schools. I was a Public School Teacher for 4 years and then became a Private French Teacher/Foreign Language Director in a very good private school in New Orleans. I lived in New Orleans from 1994 to August 2005. I enjoyed very much my life in New Orleans. But in August 2005, Katrina took all from me.....house, job and town. Now, I am in Atlanta (hotel) trying to rebuilt my life. I hope one day, I will be able to return back to New Orleans. Are there any other Canadian Katrina Victims? Still after 5 months, life is not easy in New Orleans for all these evacuees. So have a little special prayers for all these victimes. Merci!

My Father is/was "Red Platt," a halfback for the Montreal team in the CFL and later a football referee, announcer and arbitrator for several organizations. Dad was an avid curler and golfer. I had a half brother, James, who died in the late seventies or early 1980's but who has a daughter, Pippa Platt, an actress. My father passed away in January, 1989 and my mother in October, 2003. I would very much like to connect with my niece, Pippa, and any other family members. I am also curious as to my status as a Canadian. Though born in the US, my mother held a British passport at that time and my father a Canadian.Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I originally came to the States for an internship on international Indigenous rights. When my internship ended, I was offered a position with the organization. And the rest is, as they say, history. I've been here for over five years now and have had various other positions and earned a masters from an American school.
I am currently still working on Indigenous issues, but this time through the US federal government.
Unfortunately, I do not get to go back home too often, it's usually more expensive to fly to Saskatoon than to go overseas! All my family is from Canada and the majority are still in Saskatchewan.

I moved to Washington in September as part of a Volunteer Corps Program. I'll be here until August 2006 working as an outreach worker at a shelter that provides services for the homeless in Bethesda. As of now, I plan to head back to Canada once this year is up but while I'm here I would like to keep on top of Canadian events.
