Celebrating Canada Day in San Diego
The Connect2Canada Team
A sell-out audience gathered at the Comedy Co-op on July 1st to listen to three stand-up comedians of Canadian origin deliver a 2-hour routine of Canadian humour. The Canadian Consulate in San Diego and Mr. Aaron Hughes worked in close partnership to put together "Laugh-in Canada Day San Diego", which turned out to be a real laugh fest and a huge success. The headlining performer was Mr. Michael Gelbart, a Montrealer who now calls Southern California home and makes his living as a professional comic and comedy writer for a number of sitcoms and films.
Video samples of the evening are available on MySpaceTV.
On June 30, local Canadian networking association CanDiego organized "Bring in Canada Day", a large gathering of approximately 250 Canadians on the outdoor patio of the popular restaurant Prego. Pictures are not yet available but will be posted soon on www.candiego.org. The event was a great networking mixer and an opportunity for local Canadian ex-pats to get to know one another or reconnect.
