Gordie, who has won numerous awards recognizing him for his songwriting and performance abilities at the East Coast Music Awards, moved to Nashville to take his career to the next level. Since the move, this Cape Bretoner has written for some of Nashville’s biggest international stars including Faith Hill, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood!

Sampson's song "Jesus Take The Wheel" was recorded by American Idol winner Carrie Underwood and spent 6 weeks atop the charts in the US. He has just been nominated for 2 Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Best Country Song, which will be awarded in February 2007.
