"Canada Day Across America"

Join us as we celebrate the Third Annual "Canada Day Across America"!

The "Canada Day Across America" initiative promotes Canada Day events throughout the United States in an effort to bring Canadians and friends of Canada living in the U.S. together and celebrate Canada's birthday. For the third year in a row, Connect2Canada members can promote their Canada Day celebrations on our site. If you are having friends and family over for a BBQ, or hosting an event for hundreds, you can tell us about your party! Include as many or as few details as you want - including whether or not you want to simply list your event, or include an open invitation. C2C party supplies and gear are available on a first-come-first-serve basis to Connect2Canada members who are hosting parties and tell us about it!

Looking for a Canada Day celebration in your area? Click here to check out the list of events throughout the United States.

The first "Canada Day Across America" in 2006 offered 108 events in 30 states. Last year, 180 events took place in 42 states. We want to ensure that the many Canadians and friends of Canada across the United States are included in the celebrations, so let's beat the record in 2008 and go for events in all 50 states! This year, you can even show your Canadian pride by sharing your photos, so they can be featured on the Connect2Canada site.

We hope you will join us by showing your Canadian spirit and celebrating the friendship we enjoy with American friends and neighbours.

About Canada Day:

On June 20, 1868, a proclamation signed by the Governor General, Lord Monck, called upon all Her Majesty's loving subjects throughout Canada to join in the celebration of the anniversary of the formation of the union of the British North America provinces in a federation under the name of Canada on July 1st. The July 1 holiday was established by statute in 1879, under the name Dominion Day.
